Hate Crime

Hate Crime Poster

MGSD Centre provides support for victims on LGBTQI+ Hate Crime.

We work closely with Kent Police and have worked with partner organisations IN4 Web Design and Kent Independant Police Advisory Group to create a reporting application which includes a survey to collect information about peoples experiances of reporting hate crime or the reasons why they have not reported the crime.

You can visit the survey at www.hatecrime.app on any internet accesable device, Computer, tablet, phone.

The survey information is very important to inform an independant report. We and Kent Police are aware that not all hate crime is reported and the report will highlight some of the reasons why this type of crime is under reported. You can report historic hate crime experiances via the survey.

You can also report any type of hate crime or anti social behaviour via the hatecrime.app

A hate crime is when someone commits a crime against you because of your disability, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, religion, or any other perceived difference.

It doesn’t always include physical violence. Someone using offensive language towards you or harassing you because of who you are, or who they think you are, is also a crime. The same goes for someone posting abusive or offensive messages about you online.

If it happens to you, you might be tempted to shrug it off. But if you report the hate crime, we can investigate and stop it from getting worse – either for you or someone else.
